Why Did God Send Me?

I am starting to think, that God has sent me; not so much because of what I can do for and teach the people of Africa, but because of what these people can and are teaching me.
Sometimes, we (Westerners) can have prideful tendencies. We think what we know is better and we have the right answers to make their way of living easier. We have the tools for the changes they need to make, and our way of teaching is more modern and engaging. But honestly, they are teaching me so much more. Even things I had forgotten from my Latin roots. America has a lot more to learn from them than they do from us.
a fervent passion for prayer
a genuine love for community
a heart of gratitude for little
a fervor for scripture
an understanding of eternity
an appreciation for simplicity
I am starting to think that God sent me to Africa to change me. To continue to mold my soul, so it can resemble eternity just a little bit more. Being here and seeing these people, I can see God just a bit more clearer. Without the materialistic fog that clouds us from His presence.
It's not so much me making a difference in them, but them making a difference in me.
