Which one are you?

Right now (when I’m writing this) we are expecting hurricane Dorian to hit the east coast of Florida. Every year, when they announce this season, I observe a few different groups of people.
We have the ones who over-prepare
We have the ones who panic
We have the ones who run away
We have the ones who just don’t care
We have the ones who are simply always ready
I might be missing some but these are the ones who usually dominate with standing out. This time around, I took the time to really observe these groups and my mind just sort of went on blog mode (not surprising anymore).
The ones who over-prepare will go out and pile up with everything they think they will need to hold them for at least 5 years. The ones who panic just cause hysteria around them and see only one outcome; chaos and destruction. The ones who run away do just that, they run in fear of the situation to a place they think will be safer. The ones who don’t care go about their daily lives thinking they will not be affected. The ones who are always ready live with a mindset of preparation for anything. To be honest, I would like to be the one who is always ready.
I want to use the analogy of what is happening in the world to relate to what is always happening in the spiritual. What if I told you, from the moment we arrived in this world, a battle for our lives was waged against us. Satan wants to destroy us, to destroy our testimony, destroy our purpose. When trials of any kind come against us, are we ready to fight in the spiritual? “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” This battle is never ending. We fight it until our very last breath.
God has such control of our lives and we need to live out in such a way that reflects that truth. There is absolutely nothing that takes God by surprise.
I see a great many people leaning on their own understanding of the situation. They trust man more than they trust the author and perfecter of their faith. The Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. He who was and is to come. The one who laid the foundations of the earth. He who spoke the cosmic into existence. Who am I to doubt the Almighty will of He who holds my world in the palms of His hand?
