I’ll never be beautiful like her

Skinny like her

Fashionable like her

Funny like her

Thoughtful like her

Witty like her

Entertaining like her

Understanding like her

I was never meant to be her. I don’t know when I started to think that I was supposed to compare my life to everyone I saw and attach to myself the few bits and pieces of what they were. The world doesn’t force itself, but we still, so easily, buy into their lies.

When will we break that cycle?
