An Extraordinary Human

Have you ever wondered what a conversation in heaven would sound like? Angels, talking to each other about humans.
Birth:
Look at this new human! I heard God saying that there will be something special about her. They age so slow. While at the same moment it passes by in the blink of an eye. Time is so different here that looking at a human life seems almost boring. Though, I am kind of curious about this one. She doesn’t appear to have any extraordinary features. She just looks like a normal human. Doesn’t look very sturdy either. I wonder what it feels like to be born that way rather than just being spoken into existence.
1 year:
Aw, it’s adorable watching them try to walk! It is rather interesting how these earthly humans show love to that offspring; I’d say it almost resembles the love God has for everything. Though they still definitely don’t compare. They won’t ever love her like her Maker loves her. But He’s entrusted them with her so we’ll see how it goes.
3 years:
Oh, she’s starting school now. I suppose it is time to learn about how she can be special. Even though all they are doing is painting with their fingers and singing songs about cleaning and walking down a hall. What a funny way to learn. Their writing is so wobbly too. I’ll never understand human education. So intriguing.
9 years:
It doesn’t look like she’s been learning much lately. Subjects have changed but they don’t seem too interesting. Wait… what are those children around her doing? Stop. Look she’s crying now. That isn’t very nice! Don’t you know she’s supposed to be special!?
15 years:
Seems as though school hasn’t been so easy for her. Not just with her classes but just trying to fit in and find her way. She won’t stop looking at her mirror at home and crying in front of it. I wonder what she’s looking at. It can’t be the same thing I see otherwise she wouldn’t be crying. It’s too bad that childhood friend of hers moved so far away. They were really close and now she’s back to being alone. It doesn’t help that they left right before her dad died. She could have definitely used someone during that time.
17 years:
No. What is she doing? I get that she’s lonely but why is she going towards that crowd? Can’t she see that the things they do could destroy her? Turn around! I’m sure you can do better and you will find someone. Just not them! Don’t do it!
22 years:
I cannot even recognize her anymore. It took some time while looking at these humans to find out where she was. She is nowhere near being the special person God says she was going to be. I wonder why God didn’t stop all those things that happened to her. Wait, do I see God crying? I wonder if He’s broken to see her lose her way like this.
25 years:
This poor girl. She’s about to lose everything that makes her special. She’s been out in the street for a few weeks now. Her last boyfriend almost beat her to death so she ran away. She looks so cold and broken. There seems to be no life in her eyes. Oh wait, I see someone walking directly towards her. I feel like I’ve noticed her before in this area. Huh, is she offering her something? Oh, it looks like she’s inviting her to her home and it appears that it is to stay.
28 years:
We are having a celebration in heaven! All the angels are stopping what they are doing to rejoice! Our little human girl has made the decision to invite Jesus into her heart! Oh how wonderful it is to see the brokenness begin to mend within her. She is glowing and I can’t remember the last time I saw her smile so genuinely!
36 years:
It has been so beautiful to see how she has been changing herself and the things around her. She joined the choir at her small church and she even started a club for young girls to help them with their identity. I guess all those hard experiences are helping her be a big influence on them. These are just a few of the little things she has been doing over the years, but I can’t wait till that extraordinary moment comes. The way God spoke about it when she was born, it must be something huge!
39 years:
What just happened? I don’t understand. This doesn’t make any sense. Why would God bring her home so soon? She wasn’t able to do any of the extraordinary things that she was supposed to do! Why didn’t God stop that car from taking her life so suddenly like that? Didn’t He see this coming?
God answering the angel: She did everything I knew she would do in her lifetime. Extraordinary things don’t always look grand and extravagant. Sometimes they can appear to look trivial and insignificant. What you don’t know is that one of the young girls in her little club will grow up to be an ambassador advocating for women in the Middle East and save thousands. Her one extraordinary moment with that young girl will lead to thousands being saved across the world. It will be a movement beyond what anyone has ever seen. Being extraordinary is just being obedient to the journey I’ve prepared for them.
